Client Spotlight: Benz Auto Service — Building an Ops Platform With a Workshop, Not For One
Benz Auto Service (M) Sdn Bhd has been servicing Mercedes-Benz and continental vehicles out of Johor Bahru for years, built on the same thing every workshop lives or dies by — being professional, trusted, and reliable with every car that comes through the bay.
Like most established workshops, a lot of that trust runs on people, not software: job tracking on paper or in someone's head, accounting handled separately, and customer updates that depend on someone remembering to make the call. It works, but it puts a ceiling on how much the business can take on without hiring more hands just to keep the paperwork moving.
We're currently building an operations platform for Benz Auto — a system meant to sit underneath their day-to-day workshop work rather than replace how they already run things.
How we're actually working on this
We don't disappear for a few months and reappear with a finished product. The way we work with Benz Auto — and every client we build a platform for — looks like this:
Discovery calls, not just a kickoff meeting. Before we write a line of code, we sit down with the people who actually do the work — service advisors, the workshop floor, whoever touches the process daily — and map out how a job really moves from "customer walks in" to "car goes out."
Regular clinic sessions. Instead of a single big reveal at the end, we run working sessions throughout the build where we walk through what's been built, get it in front of the team, and adjust based on what actually makes sense on the ground — not just what looked good on a whiteboard.
Mutual accountability. We commit to what we'll deliver and when. In return, we ask the client to show up to sessions, give us real feedback, and flag when something doesn't fit how they actually work. A platform like this only holds up if both sides stay honest about what's working and what isn't.
It's a joint effort — Benz Auto knows their workshop better than anyone, and our job is to translate that knowledge into a system their team will actually want to use, not one they're forced to work around.
We'll share more once there's something live to show. For now, if you're running a workshop, service business, or any operation where the paperwork has quietly become the bottleneck, this is exactly the kind of problem we like sitting down to solve.
